Cherished Values of the American People

The greatest problem facing our nation today is the erosion of the values that have been the foundation of its greatness. People live their lives in pursuit of the things they value. They spend their time and money pursuing the things they value. Most of the character programs in the country today focus too much on character and not enough on values, the content of character. Without values, there is no way to judge character. Character is the degree to which one’s behavior mirrors his/her values.

We want to instill and/or strengthen the values that made the country strong. We believe that our strength is in our values, and that we will remain strong only as long as the values that support that strength remains the center of our lives.

We are educators, parents, spiritual, civic, and community leaders who are deeply concerned about the future of the country. We are committed to a common core of values, a strong family life, youth development, and responsible citizenship.

Our mission is to have all American children make the cherished values of the American people the content of their character.

Playing Together

Values are constantly being instilled or confirmed. Cherished values have many lessons and activities that instill values starting at a very early age. We even have a text for elementary students that introduces the values in words they can understand.

Working Together

The teenage years are very crucial years for instilling and confirming values. During those years, young people are challenged to abandon the cherished values of their heritage in favor of values that work to their detriment. Our group works with schools, churches, and other youth groups to help them commit and strengthen their commitment to the cherished value in this program. We teach kids the value of the values and to value the kind of society they will have if they build them on these 25 cherished values.
